Rose “Sweetie” Minor Micou, 68, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016, after a long, courageous and bold battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of the late Eleanor Griffith Minor and Robert Cary Minor.
She is survived by her children, Frank H. Micou III (Tank) and Amanda Micou Tawney (Mandy); the light of her life, her grandson, M. Brandon King; David R. Brooks II, who she loved as a son; sisters, Eleanor Little and Caryn Chrin (Gregory); as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
Rose enjoyed her career at the College of William & Mary, School of Business Administration, where she gained many lasting and supportive friendships. Her entire life was devoted to her family and the joy that they brought her.
She will be missed by all who knew her. Rose was a caring and giving person who was always going out of her way to help others. A special thanks to Dr. John Miller and the team at Peninsula Cancer Institute of Williamsburg and everyone who assisted in her care at the Hospice House and Support Center of Williamsburg.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, 23188; where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice House and Support Center of Williamsburg, or the American Cancer Society.
