Sandra Kay Moore Bowers, 67, passed away Nov. 24, 2016. Sandra, born in Abingdon, VA, moved to Williamsburg as a child, where she lived for the rest of her life.
She owned and operated Fairytales Daycare more than 15 years as well as Colonial Cab Company from 1984 to 1999. “Grammy” as she was known, loved life and caring for others. Giving of her time, along with loving others unconditionally, has left a legacy with her family. She was a member of York River Baptist Church.
Her parents, E. Bacel and Pauline ‘Musser’ Alderman; and brothers, Charles Moore and Eugene Moore, preceded her in death. Survivors include, beloved husband of 26 years, Bill Bowers Sr.; children, Tricia Clark (Michael), Wesley Varner (Sara), Bonnie Wallbank (Chris), Roxanne Gabel (Tim), and BJ Bowers (Laura); a brother, Jerry Moore; and 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at York River Baptist Church. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at Bucktrout Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28.
