William Henry “Bill” Mann Jr., 95, of Lanexa, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2016.

Bill was born May 30, 1921, to William and Caroline Mann. He attended school in Highland Springs and New Kent. He was a master machinist with Newport News Shipbuilding for 30 years and also worked as a real estate and insurance agent, gas station owner and truck owner operator. In his later years, he was known as a junk trader and newspaper scrapper.

Bill was a Mason associated with Chickahominy Lodge #286 in Toano and was a member of the James City Ruritan Club.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Parish Walls Mann; brother, Charles Mann; and sister, Frances Walls. He is survived by two sons, Will, and his wife, Becky, and Everette, and his wife, Vicki. Bill is also survived by grandchildren, Ashley, Nick (Melissa), Kenneth, Rachel, Katie and Erin (Kyle); and great-grandsons Bryan, Dalton, Henry and William. He leaves behind three sisters, Sarah Jordan, Caroline Smith and Lillian Mann; as well as a legion of friends, as Bill never met a stranger.

A funeral service will be held at Liberty Baptist Church in Lanexa on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m., with Reverend David Riley officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home, Providence Forge.
