Fifth Anniversary of the Veterans Tribute Tower is your source for free news and information in Williamsburg, James City & York Counties.

The Combined Veterans Organization Committee (CVOC) of the greater Williamsburg area cordially invites the public to join us on Veterans Day to honor all veterans—past, present, and future. The ceremony will take place at the Veterans Tribute Tower located along Discovery Park Boulevard in New Town on Friday, November 11, starting at 10:00 am, rain or shine.

This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Veterans Tribute Tower. Our guest speaker, Mr. Harry Walters, U.S. Military Academy at West Point class of 1959, was the stalwart in getting the Tribute Tower to be erected here in Williamsburg. In addition, a traveling foundry was available to cast the bell, which now hangs in the center of the tower. This bell has a direct tie to World War II; during the casting process, two U.S. Marine Corps personnel added sand they had brought back from the beaches of Iwo Jima.

The Master of Ceremonies will be, Jim Icenhour, Major, U.S. Air Force (Ret)

For those who have yet to visit the Veterans Tribute Tower, a testimonial to all veterans, from all wars and conflicts, we invite you to join us this Veterans Day.

Seating will be available.
