Lee Montgomery (69) went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 2, 1947. He enlisted in the Army in September 1966 and retired with 20 years of service.
Then he began a long career in Civil Service with the Army at Ft. Eustis, VA as an aircraft maintenance instructor then a technical inspector (TI). During his many years with Civil Service he joined the Coast Guard auxiliary for nearly 15 years.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary Jane and children – Heath and Russell Montgomery, Kimberly and James Walters (Shea), Greg Muller (Karmen) and grandchildren-Rebecca and Emily Walters, Sean and Ethan Muller and a sister Marylee Contrino (AI) of Florida.
A funeral service will be held at Maranatha Baptist Church, 221 Hampton Highway, Yorktown, VA on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends at the church two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to to 12:00 noon. Burial to follow with military honors at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.
The family would a special thank you to VA Hospice Care unit for the care and support given Lee and his family.
In lieu of flowers, Lee requested memorial contributions be made to the Missionaries Fund of Maranatha Baptist Church, 221 Hampton Highway, Yorktown, VA. 23693.
