Anthony Joseph ‘Tony’ D’Alessandro, 85, enjoyed playing golf at the Golden Horseshoe

Anthony Joseph D’Alessandro “Tony”, 85, beloved, husband, father, grandfather and friend died Oct. 27, 2016 at VCU Medical Center.

He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Ruth; sons, Dale D’Alessandro (Debbie), Brian D’Alessandro (Sue); daughter, Lisa Long (Brian); sister, Rosemarie Zuchinski, and six loving grandchildren: Christopher, Michael, Anthony, Caroline, Amanda and Mark.

He attended Wilkes College and George Washington University, with a background in radio engineering. He served honorably for the CIA for 38 years. He traveled to and lived in many different countries. He lived in Springfield, Virginia for 30 years and was actively involved at Saint Christopher’s Episcopal Church, having served on the vestry multiple times. After moving to Williamsburg in 1997, he enjoyed playing golf with his wife and friends at The Williamsburg Club and the Spotswood Course at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club.

He found joy in his wood shop, where he made many useful items for his family, friends and for Saint Martin’s Episcopal Church where he was an active member. Tony was loved by many and found his true happiness in the relationships he had with his grandchildren and felt his legacy could be found in the family he loved so dearly.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at 1:00 PM at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 1333 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, Virginia. Interment will be private.

Memorial gifts may be made to St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in memory of Mr. D’Alessandro.
