Marjory Arlene Greenwood, 91, of Williamsburg, Virginia, passed to eternity in the presence of loving family on Thursday, Oct. 27.
Mrs. Greenwood was born in Sterling, Colorado, to George and Grace Hofstetter Kohler. She grew up on a farm in Kersey, Colorado and became a licensed beautician. After WWII she met and married Gerald Arthur Greenwood of Greeley, Colorado. Married for 67 years, the couple raised five children in McLean, Virginia.
Mrs. Greenwood is predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald; her grandson, Jesse Greenwood; her parents and six siblings. She is survived by sons, Mervin Greenwood and Lonald Greenwood (Alice); daughters, Janice Greenwood-Matherne (John), Wanda Comeaux (Toby), and Cheryl Peak (Brian); grandchildren, Derek Greenwood, JaLyn Tiffany, Shannon Ritter, Travis Greenwood, Rebecca Peak, Matthew Greenwood, Sarah Stevenson, Melissa Sessoms, and Amanda Greenwood; and ten great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Marjory will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, VA , followed immediately by the Celebration. The family requests memorial contributions to the Hospice House & Support Care of Williamsburg in lieu of flowers.
