Carol Ann Costello, age 57, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016.
Carol was very loving and cared for everyone that she met. She started the women’s chapter of The Powhatan Moose Lodge and went on to be a member of the Williamsburg Moose Lodge and achieved all of the women’s honors while a member.
She worked in the banking industry as a head teller and then transferred into the loan department for many years. She went on to work in construction as an inspector working on the roads and bridges, achieving many certifications along the way. She was a hard worker and put her heart in everything she did.
Carol rooted for the Green Bay Packers, loved playing fantasy football, loved shopping and singing, with a fondness for karaoke. She also loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Dick Matschke. Survivors include Charles Costello; two sons, Shaun Mounce and R.C. Costello; 2 daughters, Cassidy Mounce and Carrie Beavers (Trey); mother, Josephine Ketron and stepfather, Jimmy; sister, Donna Matschke; brother, Robert Matschke (Beth); grandchildren Page Costello, Kara Jenkins, Benjamin Beavers and Kendall Warburton; and nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg, VA from 4-7pm. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Williamsburg Moose Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Pkwy, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Online condolences for the family may be made at Nelsen Funeral Home.
