Williamsburg Area Transit Authority has announced service modifications that will go into effect on Monday. According to an online guide, service along the Gray and Blue Routes will be extended until 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The Jamestown Route will add service on Saturday and Sunday.
Specified bus stops will be eliminated or will be serviced by another route, and new bus stops will be added. The list of these changes can be found on WATA’s digital poster.
Buses will no longer be extended a five minute courtesy in order to reach transfer stations, which WATA expects will increase the on-time performance of each route as a whole. Scheduled timepoints will be modified to increase the accuracy of the schedule and on-time performance.
WATA recommends that passengers arrive at their bus stop five minutes prior to the scheduled arrival and to stand directly next to the sign so they will be seen by bus operators.
