Williamsburg officials are encouraging residents to prepare for Hurricane Matthew, a storm the National Weather Service predicts will hit Virginia on Saturday.
“Confidence has increased that there will be at least some impacts over the forecast area including heavy rainfall… gusty winds… and several marine impacts including large waves and dangerous surf,” a weather service announcement reads.
Although it’s too early to know how much the hurricane will impact the Historic Triangle, Williamsburg officials are urging residents to get prepared by creating an emergency plan and gathering storm supplies.
