GRAFTON – Arthur Frederick “Fred” Waynick, Sr., 88, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016.
Fred is a native of Burlington, N.C. and a York County resident since 1955. He retired from NASA in 1993 after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Food Closet.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years Eleanor; his children, Rick and close family friend, Ralph, David (Linda), Ron (Stephanie), and Cathy Fisher (Chris); four grandchildren, Patrick Waynick, Kelly Wilder, Emily Howell and Blair Fisher; and -four great-grandchildren, Geneva and Eadoian Waynick and Alex and Gabriel Wilder.
A service to celebrate the life of Fred will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, at noon in St Luke’s United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be private in Parklawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church Food Closet, 300 Ella Taylor Road, Yorktown, Va. 23692. Arrangements are by Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, Va.
