This weekend Williamsburg will turn into an artist’s haven during the annual “An Occasion for the Arts” festival.
Williamsburg’s arts extravaganza features artists from around the country. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday morning, with several different events throughout both days.
Visual arts will be featured between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday when 145 artists will display and sell their creations on Duke of Gloucester and Boundary streets.
Literary arts will be celebrated on Saturday at the Williamsburg Book Festival in the Stryker Building, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, and during “An Evening with Rita Mae Brown,” which will be held in William and Mary’s Andrews Hall from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The performing arts will be on display all weekend with 24 performances split between the City Center and Courtyard Café stages.
The weekend’s festivities will close with live music and samples from local breweries, cideries and distilleries at the Courtyard Café Festival Tent behind Blue Talon Bistro from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets for Sunday’s “A Taste for Art” can be purchased here.
