York County is inviting residents to get to know local artists and their work at the fifth annual Yorktown Art Stroll.
According to a county news release, the event will take place this Sunday along the Riverwalk and in the Yorktown Freight Shed.
From 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., select businesses will open their doors to artists from throughout the community, who will have to opportunity to set up a display of their work in the many storefronts.
Types of artworks include oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, glasswork, drawings, photography, jewelry, pottery, painted furniture, fiber art, handmade soaps, and woodwork, the release stated.
The free event is open to the public and is jointly sponsored by The Yorktown Arts Foundation and York County, the release stated. This year’s lineup will also include musical performances by Rich Follett and Lana Puckett & Kim Person from 12 to 4 p.m.
Free parking will be available for the duration of the event at the Riverwalk Landing parking terrace, York Hall, the York-Poquoson Courthouse, the County Administration Building and other designated public parking lots throughout Yorktown.
Additionally, a free trolley will run from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. throughout historic Yorktown and along Riverwalk Landing. Maps will be available at the Freight Shed to assist visitors in locating artists.
