Albert Lee Hutchens Jr., 74, died September 16, 2016.
Albert was born in Statesville, NC to Albert and Laura Hutchens. He graduated from Mitchell Junior College and Appalachian State University with a Bachelors in Accounting. He served in the United States Army for three years, which included a tour in Korea. Afterwards, he worked for an accounting firm in Washington, DC then for the Department of Defense at Vint Hill Farms Station and at Fort Belvoir. During retirement, Albert enjoyed working for Colonial Williamsburg as the night manager of the Kimball Theater.
Albert was married to Linda for 51 years. They shared many wonderful years and many wonderful homes throughout North Carolina and Virginia. Other than is wife, he is survived by his two children, Laura Warhol and husband John and Lee Hutchens and wife Megan; three grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth, Rebekkah, and Cooper; brother, Henkel Hutchens, and wife Judy; sister-in-laws, Joyce Bunn, Hilda Hall and Marvine Myers; and with multiple nieces and nephews.
His favorite companions were his two Maltese dogs, Boo and Louie.
His favorite past-times were watching and playing golf, reading, taking long road trips or drives in his car, watching his children swim for Old Dominion University and East Carolina University, and playing with his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Colonial Williamsburg Foundation for the Kimball Theater 424 W. Duke of Gloucester St. Williamsburg VA 23185 or the National Kidney Foundation 30 East 33rd St. New York, NY 10016 in his memory.
