Betty Rickard Black Lagillier of Seaford, VA, formerly of Thomasville, NC went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016.
She was born May 29, 1930 to the late Alfred Lee and Eunice Jordan Rickard. She lived most of her life in Thomasville and was a member of the graduating class of 1949 from Thomasville High School. She was last employed at Thomas Mfg. Company in Thomasvsille.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Nerius Edward “Buck”, Eugene and Leon “Poss” Rickard and one sister Mildred Moore.
Betty is survived by her loving husband Charles Lagillier, whom she married on Dec. 19, 1981. She is also survived by her son, Victor Black (Lindy) and daughters Debbie Vest (Randy) and Karen Hall (Paul). She is also survived by her extended family, Denise Lagillier, Howard Lagillier (Melva) and Evelyn Bickley (Brian), 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and her precious pet “Peaches.”
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at JC Green & Sons in Thomasville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept.18, at JC Green & Sons Chapel with Rev. Fred Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Cemetery.
