Grafton Varsity volleyball competed in a tournament this weekend at Albemarle high school in Charlottesville and placed 2nd overall out of 10 teams winning 4 games and losing one.
Grafton VS Liberty: 25-16, 25-14,25-16 (3 to 25 no matter what)
Grafton VS Fluvanna: 25-13, 19-25, 25-23 (3 to 25 no matter what)
Grafton VS Broad Run: 27-25, 25-12, 20-25 (3 to 25 no matter what)
Grafton VS Albemarle: 25-19, 25-21 (best of 3)
Grafton VS Faquier: 17-25, 16-25 (best of 3)
Great showing for the Clippers as we are starting 3 sophomores and a freshman this year. Below are the stats from some standouts this weekend:
Samantha Heard, Senior, Middle Blocker: 40 kills, 4 aces, 26 digs, 4 blocks
Haley Sutton, Sophomore, Setter: 6 kills, 14 aces, 115 assists, 30 digs
Becca Hallingstad, sophomore, Outside Hitter: 27 kills, 6 aces, 40 digs, 4 blocks
Becca Hallingstad was named on the ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM and Samantha Heard was honorable mention.
Was a great weekend for us, as a team we totaled 30 aces and 20 blocks!!
