Carol Lee Berkley was called home for eternal rest on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016. She slipped into a peaceful sleep and entered into the Gates of Heaven in the Hospice House of Williamsburg. Her life’s journey began on July 23, 1953, the daughter of Virginia Berkley.
She was a member of St. John Baptist Church, Toano, Virginia. She faithfully served her church as a member of the Hospitality Committee. Carol was employed for many years as an Executive Secretary, in the Human Resource Department of Eastern State Hospital. To know her was to love her and she will be greatly missed by many.
She leaves to cherish her blessed memories, her devoted mother, Virginia Berkley; her aunts and uncles; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.
A funeral service, celebrating the life she lived, will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, in St. John Baptist Church (Toano) with the Rev. Reggie L. Berkley officiating. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 260 Ivy Hill Road by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ms. Berkley may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday Sept. 9, 2016 in the funeral home.
