Jeanne H. Peters, 59, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016. Jeanne was a native of McKeesport, PA and former resident of Alexandria, VA for 36 years before moving to Yorktown in 2015. She retired in 2013 as a hospital administrator with Georgetown University Medical Center for over 28 years. Jeanne graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School in 1974 and was a graduate of Edinboro University in 1978 where she studied Business Economics. Jeanne was also an officer in her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta. It was here at Edinboro University where she met her husband Paul. Jeanne enjoyed to travel and spending time at the beach, especially the Outer Banks, NC with family. Her favorite past time was passionately cheering on her daughters at their many sporting events from the time they were young through their college careers. She also enjoyed the time she spent with her granddaughter Lila as a recent Granny.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, George and Jean Hospodar, and her brother George Robert Hospodar. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 38 years, Paul M. Peters and her daughters, Jenna C. Peters and Amanda L. Phaup and her husband Trey Phaup, a sister Polla DeVille and a granddaughter Lila Jean Phaup.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Amory Funeral Home. A celebration service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the funeral home with Deacon Mark Mueller, officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that in the true spirit of Jeanne and to honor her memory, that donations be made to either the Lustgarten Foundation, where 100% of all donations go towards pancreatic cancer research https://www.lustgarten.org/donate or to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, that not only gives support to research but also provides support to those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and their families https://www.pancan.org/ .
