Carolynn “Bitsy” Mizelle Cirillo, 71, passed peacefully on Sept. 1, 2016. Carolynn was known to all of her family and friends as Bitsy, a name given to her by her older sister. She was a graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School where she would meet and marry the love of her life. Her greatest joy was being a stay at home mom. She would eventually return to the work force where she would later retire from Noland Company after 28 years of service at the Corporate Office as a Supervisor of Invoice Entry. She was an avid writer and reader and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting and serving her church. She was a deacon of Yorktown Baptist Church for 5 years and loved serving her God and her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Mary Tekinder Kearns and Jessie P. Mizelle, and her brother John P. Mizelle. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Dominic D. Cirillo Jr., daughter Kathey Cirillo Kuhnle and her husband Robert, son Chris Cirillo, and daughter LeighAn M. White and her husband Kenny. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Emma and Aaron Cirillo and Bradley and Julia White, and her sister Lynn Ballou of Winson-Salem, NC., as well as many other nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday Sept. 7, 2016 at 1pm at Yorktown Baptist Church 237 Nelson Street Yorktown, VA 23690. In lieu of flowers Bitsy requested donations be made to any of the following organizations/charities: Yorktown Baptist Church, American Diabetes Association or the ALS Association. We will always love and miss you Sweetie, Momma, Nana and Nanny.
