George Thomas Hopkins, 69, avid fisherman and crabber

George Thomas Hopkins, 69, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016. George was a native and lifelong resident or York County. He retired in 2006 as a pipe fitter for many years. He was an avid fisherman and crabber and enjoyed storage wars flea markets.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Denise and his parents. William and Susie Hopkins along with a sister, Ginny Wilson and a brother, Johnny Hopkins. George is survived by a daughter, Tonya Nelson (James) of Louisville, KY and 2 sons, Kenneth Hopkins of Newport News and Bradley Hopkins (Alicia) of Gloucester; a sister, Mary Lucille Reed of Gloucester and 2 brothers, Robert and William Hopkins of Yorktown; 7 grandchildren, Scott, Blaine, Dhevin, Keithan, Evalise, Brendon and Caleb.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 in Amory Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends following the service.
