Golden Horseshoe to offer $25 public play for area residents

Locals on a budget will soon have the chance to play the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club’s award-winning course.

According to a news release from Colonial Williamsburg, the club will celebrate its silver anniversary by opening up to the public for $25 rounds during its 25th Anniversary Community Week from Aug. 22-26.

“The Green Course is a contemporary treasure that has hosted three USGA national championships, and players from across the region are sure to enjoy its beauty and challenging play,” Glen Byrnes, Colonial Williamsburg’ director of golf and recreation said in the release. “This celebration is the perfect chance for locals who have wanted to experience the Golden Horseshoe and its hospitality to seize the opportunity.”

The promotion is open to residents of Williamsburg, Chesapeake, Hampton, New Kent, Newport News, Norfolk, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Suffolk and Virginia Beach, along with residents from Gloucester, Isle of Wight, James City, Surry and York counties. Proof of residency is required and availability is limited.

Tee times from Aug. 22-25 are available after 10 a.m. and may be reserved up to five days in advance. Registration and tee times are available by calling 757-220-7696.
