Norman Pernell Tucker Sr., 65, was called to eternal rest on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016.
He was born Dec. 15, 1950, the son of Ruth D. Tucker and the late Hugh Tucker. He retired from the York County School Board after 10 years of service. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his mother, Ruth D. Tucker; his daughters, Taneisha L. Bryant, LaToya Tucker and Shante Tucker; his son, Norman Pernell Tucker Jr. (LaKia); his sisters, Mary D. Brown and Linda T. Lawson (Russell); his brothers, Wayne S. Tucker (Cheryl) and Raymond B. Dunn; his 12 grandchildren; his former wife, Lynda Tucker; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.
Mr. Tucker may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at Whiting’s Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, Va.
Family and friends will assemble at 125 Lewis Drive by 9:45 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12. A funeral service, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cornerstone Community Church 1003 Moyer Road, Newport News, with Evangelist Rose Camm officiating. Interment will follow in Grafton Baptist Church Cemetery, 1301 Old York-Hampton Highway.
