Sharon Boggs, 62, a long-time resident of Williamsburg, Va., passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016, with her family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born Oct. 11, 1953, in Placerville, Calif., Sharon moved with her loving mother and father across the United States to Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and New Jersey, finally settling in Williamsburg, Va.
She worked for Dominion Virginia Power Company for more than 40 years and enjoyed her job and close friends at the Surry Plant.
She had a passion for travel and genealogy, and she combined those pursuits on many trips with her mother to explore both her family’s lineage and the wonders of the many states and countries they visited. She was diligent in her genealogy research, discovering ancestors from 9th century England and immigrations to the colonies in the 15th & 16th centuries. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, enjoying the food, shopping and sharing her generous spirit with family and friends.
She is survived by her mother, Carol Stoker of Williamsburg, Va.; brothers, Matthew Steinberger (Tanya) of Alaska, James Steinberger (Wanita) of Iowa; nephews, Justin and Trevor; nieces, Christina and Melinda; and great-nephew, Tatum.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2,, 2016, at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, Va. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. A reception will be held immediately following at the funeral home, where friends and family can celebrate Sharon’s life and friendship.
