Coastal Virginia Magazine recently announced the winners of its annual “Readers’ Choice Best of Coastal Virginia” contest — and York County took home gold.
On July 28, the magazine celebrated award winners from across the region by hosting a Best of Coastal Virginia event, where staff of York County Parks, Recreation and Tourism accepted awards on behalf of the county.
According to a news release, York County Parks, Recreation and Tourism won multiple awards in various categories. The final list was compiled after more than 210,000 votes were cast in 137 categories, with picks such as best restaurants, local attractions and shopping.
Some noteworthy wins for the county include Yorktown Market Days, which took home a Peninsula Gold Award for “Best Farmer’s Market” and the Riverwalk Landing, which won Peninsula Gold for “Best Music Venue & Place to Hear Local Bands.”
