The City of Williamsburg announced Thursday the appointment of Andrew “Drew” Trivette as the city’s new assistant manager, effective Aug. 29.
According to a news release from the city, Trivette was hired following a nationwide search. He holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of Virginia and comes to Williamsburg from Bristol, Va., where he has been the assistant city manager since 2012.
“This is a great opportunity,” Trivette said in the release. “The City of Williamsburg has a proven record of being a well-run, well-organized city and I look forward to being a part of the community. I’m ready to face new challenges and to work with a first-class city staff to help achieve the community vision.”
Trivette will receive a salary of $116,000 and his primary responsibilities will include project management, research, policy analysis, internal and external communication, as well as assisting and supporting City Manager Marvin E. Collins, III.
“Drew’s strong background in local government, his exceptional communication and leadership skills and progressive vision made him an ideal candidate for assistant city manager,” said Collins. “I look forward to him becoming an effective and important part of an already outstanding city staff.”
