Herbert Gilmore Fraser, 79, former electrical estimator at Fort Monroe

Herbert “Bert” Gilmore Fraser, 79, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 11, 2016, in Grandy, N.C.

He was born July 16, 1936, in Rome, N.Y. to the late Taylor Colonna Fraser and Marjorie Johnson Fraser.

He was an electrical estimator at Fort Monroe and a member of Jarvisburg Church of Christ.

He is survived by Jean Fraser, his wife of 53 years; two sons, Bruce (Lee) of Christ Church, New Zealand, and Scott (Kim) of Poquoson, Va.; daughter, Lisa of Hampton, Va.; brother, Peter (Susan); five grandchildren, Lauren, Elizabeth, Taylor, Liam and Julian; and multiple nieces and nephews.

The family received visitors Friday, July 15, 2016 at Jarvisburg Church of Christ, 121 Forbes Road, Jarvisburg, N.C. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2016, at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton, Va.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the building fund of Jarvisburg Church of Christ.
