Beachgoers may have to reschedule their plans this week as the Jamestown Beach Event Park gets a makeover.
The park is scheduled to begin a sand replenishment project Monday, which should take approximately two days to complete.
According to a press release from James City County, the park will close down the paddle craft loading and drop-off area while work is being completed. The beachfront, observation pier and concessions building will remain open during the project, but the release stated “visitors should be attentive to machinery and workers in the area.”
The start date and the duration of the project could change due to weather conditions.
