James City County is hosting a Park-to-Park Bicycle Tour on Saturday, July 23 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. that will take cyclists through many of the county’s green spaces.

Beginning at Chickahominy Riverfront Park, riders will have four course options with varying degrees of difficulty and length. All riders will receive lunch, refreshments, admittance to the Chickahominy Riverfront Park pool, maps and the assistance of support vehicles for tired riders.

A family ride option is available for $10 per person that allows cyclists to ride as little or as much as possible. This ride is catered toward groups that include children or the elderly.

Set-length rides are also available in 15-mile, 30-mile and 50-mile increments. The 15-mile ride costs $10 per person, the 30-mile ride costs $15 per person and the 50-mile ride costs $20 per person.

Riders who choose to pursue the 50-mile option will travel through Mid County Park, Powhatan Creek Trail, Freedom Park, Little Creek Reservoir Park and Upper County Park.

Registration forms are available online by clicking here. They may also be picked up at local bike shops, the James City County Recreation Center, the Freedom Park Interpretive Center and the Satellite Services Office in Toano. On-site registration is also permitted.
