A pair of James City County video productions recently received recognition during national and international competitions.
James City County’s fiscal year 2015 annual report video and EXPLORE James City County video received honors during the 37th Annual Telly Awards and the 2016 Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Awards Competition.
In 2015, James City County produced its first annual report video, instead of opting for a traditional paper annual report. The roughly 10-minute video gave an overview of county accomplishments in fiscal year 2015 by utilizing video clips, photographs, graphics and narration from prominent county members.
For their efforts, the county received a Telly in the Government Relations category, as well as a 2016 Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Award of Excellence from the National Association of Government Communicators.
The county’s EXPLORE James City County video, a one and a half minute film that features various scenes of outdoor activities around the county, received three Tellys for Videography/Cinematography, Editing and Health and Fitness.
The 37th Annual Telly Awards received over 13,000 entries from all 50 states and multiple countries, while the 2016 Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Awards Competition received more than 265 entries across 41 categories.
