Larry Conley, 74, of Newport News, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016. He will be missed by his wife of 53 years, Karen Conley; his son, Kevin Conley; and his grandson, Shane Conley.

Larry proudly served in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War, retiring as a Master Chief. During his military career, he served one tour in Vietnam and one extended tour with the RTC, Yorktown VA; opened the SAR Substation in Eastport, Maine; served as the OIC of the USCGC Point Sal (WPB 82352) Grand Isle, Louisiana; took two trips to the Antarctic; and worked as a lighthouse keeper in three lighthouse stations. After finishing his military career in Yorktown, he retired from the military service.

He was a member of St. Olaf Catholic Church, 104 Norge Ln., Williamsburg, where a funeral mass was offered Saturday, July 9, 2016.
