Lorraine Owens Ingram, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 20, 2016. Born May 10, 1930, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred H. Owens, Lorraine was a lifelong resident of Dandy.
She was a 1947 graduate of Poquoson High School. Lorraine retired from York County Schools in 1971 after years of working in the main office at York High School. She was a charter member of Dandy Baptist Church, where she faithfully served for decades. Lorraine deeply loved her family, church and the local community of Dandy.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Lynwood Ingram; son Norman Ingram (Myra) of Yorktown; daughter Patricia “Patty” Motley (Neal) of Stuarts Draft; brother, Alfred Owens (Grace) of Yorktown; sister, Mary Walker of Newport News; and seven grandchildren, Jeffrey MtCastle, Shannon Ingram, Shaun Ingram, Melody Twigg, John Twigg, Shanna Slovinsky and Chelsei Fox; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Louella Owens; and many nieces and nephews.
Loraine was preceded in death by her brother, Fay Owens; granddaughter, Jamie Ingram; brothers-in-law, Claude Walker and William “Bill” Ingram; and nephew, Kenneth “Kenny” Owens.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the chapel of Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
