Exclusive interview: Bruce Hornsby previews final day of Funhouse Fest

Funhouse Fest winds up Sunday, June 26, with performances from ChessBoxer, Aoife O’Donovan and the Taj Mahal Trio, plus another performance from Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers.

The final day of the festival, which will take place on the lawn at the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg, boasts one of the event’s most stylistically diverse line-ups, according to Hornsby.

Hornsby, who is an investor in WYDaily’s parent company, Local Voice, will close out the show with a free-for-all performance that he hints may include some exciting surprise musical guests.

Though the future of the festival beyond this year is still up in the air, Hornsby is eager to continue to schedule shows in his hometown as long as there is public demand for it.

“There will be people in the audience who may think a song is about them, and they may be right,” Hornsby said of the unique charms of playing for such a familiar crowd.

Gates open Sunday at 1 p.m. and performances begin at 3 p.m. Click here for more information about the festival and to purchase tickets.
