Robert James Marlatt, 78, volunteer at Jamestown Settlement known for his sense of humor

Robert James Marlatt, 78, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was married to the love of his life, the late Janet M. Marlatt for 52 years.

Bob is survived by his children, Susan Hartman, and her husband, Brian, and Geoffrey Marlatt, and his wife, Jane; grandchildren, Eric and Sarah Hartman and Jim, Katie, Emily, Colleen and Bobby Marlatt; and brother, Henry Marlatt, and his wife, Beverly.

After a long career at Johnson & Johnson, Bob retired to Williamsburg in 1998. He and Janet shared their love of golf, travel and spending time with friends and family. They were especially proud of their grandchildren. Bob was an avid volunteer at Jamestown Settlement. He was known for his sense of humor, generous spirit and devotion to Janet.

In respecting Bob’s wishes, a private family memorial will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Williamsburg Relay for Life Team and Governor’s Land Rovers, 11835 Canon Boulevard, Suite A105, Newport News, VA 23606.
