For Bruce Hornsby, the beauty of his upcoming Funhouse Fest is in the camaraderie shared among the event’s genre-defying line-up of musicians.
“What’s really fun about this for me is it’s a gathering of old friends,” Hornsby said in an exclusive interview with Local Voice founder and CEO Tom Davis. Hornsby is an investor in Local Voice, WYDaily’s parent company.
The three-day festival, presented in partnership between Hornsby and the Virginia Arts Festival, will bring together iconic music acts like Ricky Skaggs, Greensky Bluegrass, Jack DeJohnette, Ravi Coltrane, Matt Garrison, Colvin & Earle, Railroad Earth, the Taj Mahal Trio, Aoife O’Donovan, ChessBoxer, Kentucky Thunder and of course Hornsby and his own band, the Noisemakers.
The shows will take place on the lawn of the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg, just a stone’s throw away from where Hornsby grew up and near many of the locales he continues to frequent when he is the area.
“It’s great for me to be able to bring these people to my town,” Hornsby said.
