On Tuesday June 7, 2016, our beloved Apostle Raymond Holliday, 79, went on to be with the Lord. Raymond was born on March 21, 1937, the son of the late Dessie W. and Howard Holliday Sr. He was educated in Clarendon County Public Schools, in Manning, S.C. He retired from the U.S. Army and also served for 52 years in the ministry. He obtained his Doctor of Divinity Degree and Ph.D. from Regency Christian College, in Jacksonville, Fla.
Apostle Raymond was founder and overseer of My Father’s House Apostolic Outreach Ministries Inc. and My Father’s House School of Ministry.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Annette Conyers; and his brothers, Julian Holliday Sr. and Romey Holliday.
He leaves to cherish his blessed memories, his devoted wife of 24 years, Dr. Brenda Holliday; brother, Howard Holliday (Julia); two sisters, Dorothy Graham (Willie) and Rosa A. Canty; children, Yolanda Christian (Michael), Denise Wright, Danny Wright, Charles Wright, Sonya Nathan (William), Sylvia Holliday and Esme Tanksley (Sean); four sisters-in-law; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many caring friends.
Apostle Holliday may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 10, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. A homegoing celebration will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Bethel Restoration Center, 6205 Richmond Road, Williamsburg. Interment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
