Ritalee Griffith Adams, 88, returned to heaven the morning of Tuesday, June 7, 2016. She was born in Elizabeth, N.J., on May 16, 1928.

As a young child, she attended dance school and was an experienced acrobat. She was known as the Shirley Temple of New Jersey and loved performing. Later in life, Ritalee enjoyed cooking fantastic meals for her family, reading ferociously and socializing with those she loved.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her loving husband of 62 years; Paul R. Adams; four loving children, Rick Adams, Mark Adams, Rita Dunbar and Lori Schofield; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 612 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg.

Her family and friends would like to offer special thanks to the staff at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. Their kindness and compassion is unrivaled, and they treated Mrs. Adams like family during her time there.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huntington’s Disease Society of America, or St. Stephen Lutheran Church.
