God called his daughter, Franklyn Renee’ Foster, 62, home to eternal rest on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. A native of Philadelphia, Pa., she became a resident of Virginia at an early age.
Renee’ was employed by Eastern State Hospital and retired after 35 years of service as a human resources manager. She was an active member of Grafton Baptist Church, Harris Grove, where she was a member of the Praise Team and president of the Women’s Ministry. She also was a past worthy matron of the Prince Hall Scottish Rite.
Renee’ was preceded in death by her parents, Pauline R. Harrod Wyatt and John F. Wyatt Sr.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Chester Foster, and daughter, Briana Foster, both of Newport News; son, Brandon Foster, of Radford; two sisters, Pinky Brooks (Elver) and Ruth Dixon (William); three brothers, Wayne Wyatt (Carolyn), Nathan Wyatt and John Wyatt Jr. (Mamie); a special niece and nephew, Takiyah and Jacob Brooks; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Whiting’s Funeral Home and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grafton Baptist Church, Harris Grove. A celebration of her life will be held at noon Wednesday, June 1, at Grafton Baptist Church, Harris Grove, with Pastor Reginald Bagley officiating and the Rev. Wayne Tucker and the Rev. Jeffrey Burrell Sr. assisting. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
