The Virginia Department of Transportation advises Jamestown-Scotland Ferry motorists that the ferry Williamsburg will remain out of service during the Memorial Day weekend due to an unexpected delay in repairs.

The Pocahontas, Surry and Virginia vessels will continue to ferry motorists across the James River following the normal ferry schedule.

Operations will be diminished by about 30 vehicles per hour between 2 and 9 p.m. Friday through Monday. So motorists are advised to plan accordingly.
