Douglas Alan ‘Doug’ Betts, 68, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016. Doug was a native of Baltimore, Md., and a Peninsula resident since 1955. He was a graduate of York High School, Class of 1965, and retired in 2003 from Virginia Dominion Power after 20 years of service. He was a member of Faith Fellowship Church and enjoyed fishing and boating.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Ellie A. Betts; daughter, Stephanie Ingram of Dare; son, Brian Betts of Seaford; stepsons, Kenneth Jutras (Debra) of Seaford and Jerry Jutras (Connie) of Williamsburg; two brothers, Bill Betts (Mary) of Yorktown and Nelson Betts (Nancy) of Newport News; nine grandchildren; special and dear friend, Viana Dail; and faithful companion, Mandy.

A service of celebration will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Faith Fellowship Church, with the Rev. Jerry Jutras officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
