“Shagging on the Riverwalk” will return this summer to Historic Yorktown.

The popular beach music concert series will launch its 10th season on June 2 at the performance stage at Riverwalk Landing.

The Holiday Band will be the first of seven acts to take the stage as part of the series. Other scheduled performers include Band of Oz, Soul Intent, Coolin Out Band, The Main Event Band, The Original Rhondels and the Mark Roberts Band.

Fans of beach favorites, oldies and Motown are encouraged to grab their dancing shoes and come out to enjoy live music and shag dance lessons courtesy of the Colonial Shag Club.

The concerts will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays from June 2 through July 21; there will not be a show on June 30.

This series is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Food will be available for purchase.
