The James City County Historical Commission is currently seeking nominations for the 2016 Historic Preservation Awards.
In order to qualify for a Historic Preservation Award, an individual, group or organization must have completed a project that made an important contribution to the preservation of James City County’s history, either in a volunteer or professional capacity.
The award may be given posthumously.
Qualifying projects must have taken place in or be directly related to James City County, and should draw national or international attention to the county’s rich history.
If the project was completed in a professional capacity, its success must have been of greater impact and value than normally would be associated with the execution of those professional duties.
The Historical Commission is accepting nominations through Friday, May 20, and the awards will be presented at a James City County Board of Supervisors meeting this summer or early next fall.
