Tabb pitcher DJ Williams stifled Grafton’s offense en route to the Tigers downing the Clippers 9-1 at home Thursday.

Williams threw a complete game, allowing one earned run on four hits.

Grafton’s lone run came in the opening frame as DJ Dobbins smacked an RBI single that put the Clippers up 1-0.

After a scoreless second inning for both teams, Tabb took the lead in the bottom of the third inning by scoring two runs.

Holding a 2-1 lead over Grafton, Tabb posted two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning before blowing the game open with five more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Pacing the Tabb offense was Nick Hunter, who went 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs. Robbie Barrett also went 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs.

Tabb (8-6) will host Lafayette on Friday, while Grafton (4-11) will travel to take on York that same day.

Bruton Offense Struggles in Loss to New Kent

Bruton suffered its fifth consecutive loss as the Panthers dropped a 4-1 road game to New Kent on Thursday.

Trailing 1-0 in the top of the third inning, the Panthers scored their only run as Brandon Danet scored on a fielding error by New Kent and tied the game at 1-1.

However, New Kent retook the lead in the bottom of the third inning and added a pair of runs en route to the victory.

Bruton (3-12) will try to snap its losing skid at home against Poquoson on Friday.
