James W. ‘Bill’ DeLauder Jr., 64, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016. James was born in Newport News and was a lifelong resident of Hampton Roads.
Bill worked for 42 years as a facility service representative for Jacobs at the NASA Research Center. He was active in York County Little League Baseball and was a fan of the Atlanta Braves, Washington Redskins and University of Virginia.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Linda B. DeLauder; mother, Carolyn B. DeLauder; two sons, Taylor DeLauder, and his fiancée, Michelle, of Virginia Beach and Wesley DeLauder of Yorktown; daughter, Shannon Hodges, and her husband, G.T., of Richmond; sister, Debbie Dayton of Newport News; and two grandchildren, Samuel and Kate Hodges.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 9, at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Yorktown. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service in The Grove located at St. Luke’s.
