Under sloppy conditions, Grafton suffered a 6-4 setback to New Kent on the road.
The Clippers opened the game with an RBI groundout from Justin Bowers, which was immediately followed by an RBI single from Michael Bailey.
New Kent responded with a run in the bottom of the second inning before taking a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Bowers tied the game up at 3-3 with a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning, but New Kent retook the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Ryan McDonald attempted to keep Grafton in the game with an RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning that knotted the game at 4-4.
New Kent put the game away in the bottom of the sixth inning with a pair of runs that proved to be the last of the game.
Grafton (3-9) will try to rebound on the road against Lafayette on Friday.
