Garrett Hugh Ball, 17, a native of York County and Poquoson resident for 12 years, died Saturday, April 30, 2016.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, football and wrestling. Garrett was a member of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church, Tabb.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh E. Ball III.
He is survived by his mother, Denise Ball; brother, Parker Ball; sister, Deana Ball; grandparents, Margaret and retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. Hugh E. Ball Jr. and Dolores and Charles Schillaci; aunts and uncles, Karen and Bob Macomber, Carmen and Dave Waldman, Michele and Ed Cape, Margaret and Bob Zurschmit, Leslie and Olaf Kampschmidt and Jane and Paul Schillaci; cousins, Melissa Macomber Estill, Sarah Peters, Kristin Macomber, Monique, Hannah and Danielle Waldman, Mackenzie and Mason Cape, Wesley, Grace and Emma Zurschmit, and Natalia, Veronika and Kristof Schillaci.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church with Father Bob Spencer officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the church, and burial will then follow in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
Memorial contributions may be made to a Scholarship Fund in Garrett’s memory to be set up at a future date.
