Anthony V. Margan, 82, of Williamsburg and former 48-year resident of Lake Hopatcong, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016.

Anthony served as a captain of the Merchant Marines during the Vietnam War. He retired as the senior staff engineer at PSEG of New Jersey. Anthony enjoyed boating and sailing, and he especially loved to travel.

Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Natasha Margan; parents, Ante and Matilda Margan; brother, Drago Margan; sister, Vensa, and her husband, Josip Tadin; and cousin, Iris Margan.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Katharina Margan; nieces and nephews, Deanna, and her husband, Carl Hurtig, Peter, and his wife, Lisa Margan, and Anthony, Steven and Alex Margan; and great-nephews and great-niece, Victor, and his wife, Amanda, Brian and Katie.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anthony’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 213 McLaws Circle, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
