Jamestown’s dominance of the Bay Rivers District continued on Monday as the Eagles hit the road and handed York its first loss of the season.
Behind a combination of strong singles and doubles play, Jamestown was able to secure the 9-0 victory, its sixth consecutive in district play this season.
The most competitive match of the day came at No. 3 singles as Jamestown’s Brad Mahaffey edged Erik Moulton 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-8).
After sweeping singles, Jamestown continued its solid play by winning all three doubles matches against the Falcons.
Jamestown (8-2) will visit Bruton on Wednesday, while York (5-1) will look to rebound at home against Tabb that same day.

Warhill Edges Bruton
Warhill earned a narrow 5-4 win at home against Bruton on Monday.
The overall match was ultimately decided by a pair of singles matches that were decided during third-set tiebreakers.
At No. 1 singles, Bruton’s Ian Sadler earned a tough 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-2) win against Warhill’s Jackson Cummins. In response, Warhill’s No. 4 Sam Hrncir topped Dylan Shannon 6-2, 1-6, 1-0 (10-8).
With the match tied at 3-3 headed into doubles, the Lions earned victories at No. 2 and No. 3 to clinch the win.
Warhill (4-4) will host Grafton on Wednesday, while Bruton (5-4) will host Jamestown that same day.

Tabb Escapes Lakeland
Tabb’s boys tennis team narrowly defeated Lakeland 5-4 on the road Monday afternoon.
With the victory, the Tigers are now on their first multi-game win streak of the season.
Tabb (4-2) will look to continue its winning ways on the road against York on Wednesday.
