Lafayette earned its second big win in as many games as the Rams hit the road and knocked off Grafton 3-2 on Monday.

The Rams opened the game with a flurry of first-half goals.

Justin Wilson started the action on an unassisted shot from beyond the box. Later in the half, Jason Eckenrode scored back-to-back goals that put Lafayette on top 3-0.

Late in the first half, Grafton was awarded a penalty kick and Adam King was able to convert to bring the Clippers within two goals before halftime.

King found the back of the net in the second half off an assist from Patrick Garber, who left the game with Lafayette’s Paul Cordle after the two collided later in the half.

Despite Grafton closing Lafayette’s lead to 3-2, the Rams were able to hang on for the win.

Lafayette (4-2-1) will host Menchville on Wednesday, while Grafton (7-3) will try to rebound from the loss during a road game against Warhill on Thursday.

Gonzalez Scores Twice as Jamestown Rolls

Antonio Gonzalez scored a pair of second-half goals to help lead Jamestown to a 6-0 win at home against New Kent on Monday.

Isaiah McGee opened the scoring in the 12th minute for Jamestown. Ben Carper also logged a first-half goal for the Eagles, scoring his only goal of the game in the 34th minute.

After entering halftime up 2-0, Jamestown opened the second half with back-to-back goals from Gonzalez, who scored in the 46th minute and the 50th minute.

Leading 4-0, Jamestown’s Ethan McGee scored off an assist from Tanner Herndon in the 60th minute. The final goal of the game came from Duncan McDevitt in the 75th minute.

Jamestown (3-3-1) faces a tough test on Wednesday at home against Chancellor.

Tabb Blanks Smithfield

Goals by Allen Blair and Andrew Lenfant helped Tabb earn a 2-0 win at home against Smithfield on Monday.

Blair posted the game’s first goal in the first half, scoring off an assist from Matt Montgomery. Blair’s goal gave the Tigers a 1-0 halftime lead.

In the second half, Nate Jacobson’s pass connected with Lenfant, who found the back of the net for the game’s final score.

Tabb (3-3-1) faces a tough road game against York on Thursday.
