Evelyn Hazelett Spicer, 68, died at her home Saturday, April 23, 2016, with family by her side.
Mrs. Spicer retired from Freddie Mac as a financial project manager. Birdwatching, traveling and gardening were a few of her favorite pastimes; but most of all, it was her grandchildren she loved with all of her heart. She was a member of Saint Bede Catholic Church, Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel E. and Evelyn Andrews Hazelett; and brother, Samuel James Hazelett.
Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Daniel S. Spicer; daughter, Elizabeth Kepley, and her husband, Christopher; son, Daniel S. Spicer, and his wife, Rose Mary; five grandchildren, Chloe, Christopher, Evelyn, Joseph and Delan; sister, Sheila Whickman; and brother, Karol Hazelett.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at Bucktrout Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, at Saint Bede Catholic Church, Williamsburg. Inurnment will be private.
