More than 25 schools across multiple Virginia High School League classifications, including Warhill and Bruton, descended upon Mechanicsville on Saturday for the Lee-Davis Invitational.

While neither Warhill nor Bruton were contending for team victories at the meet, athletes from both schools had solid outings on the day.

For Warhill, Silvana Wuethrich tied for 19th in the girls pole vault, while Anthony Giacchetta tied for 19th in the boys pole vault.

Senior Brian Stovall finished 16th in the 400-meter run, while teammate Kyle Barkle took 17th place in the boys discus.

Warhill’s boys 4×800-meter relay team took seventh place in a time of 8:33.18.

For Bruton, which sent only two athletes to the meet, Clara Wincheski earned a solid fifth-place finish in the girls 3,200-meter run in a time of 11:01.45.

The other Bruton athlete, Curt Ivanoff, finished 47th in the boys 3,200-meter run.
